James Prescot Joules |
Joule is the standard unit of work or energy. It is named in honour of James Prescot Joules who was an Englishman. In 1847, James Joule found that heat and work are interchangeable at a fixed. There is nothing 'special' about heat, weather produced by friction, electricity combustion, kinetic energy by the digestion of food. It is just a form of energy.
