 CIRCULATORY SYSTEM 


The circulatory system is a vast network of organs and vessels that is responsible for the flow of blood, nutrients, hormones, oxygen and other gases to and form cells. Without the circulatory system, the body would not be able to fight diseases or maintain a stable internal environment such as proper temperature and pH - known as homeostasis.
While many view the circulatory system, also known as the cardio vascular system, as simple as highway for blood it is made up of three independent systems that work together ; the heart, lungs and arteries, veins, coronary and portal vessels according to the U.S MLM.
The heart, blood and blood vessels make up the cardiovascular component of the circulatory system. The pulmonary circulatory system sends oxygen- depleted blood away from the heart through the pulmonary artery to the lungs and returns oxygenated blood to the heart through the pulmonary vein.
Oxygen deprived blood enters the right atrium of the heart and flow through the tricuspid value into the right ventricle. From their it pumped through the pulmonary semilunar value into the pulmonary artery on its way to the lungs. When it gets to the lungs, the carbon dioxide is released from the blood and oxygen is absorbed. The pulmonary vein sends the oxygen rich blood back to the heart according to NLM. 
The system is circulation is the portion of the circulatory system is the network of veins, arteries and vessels that transports blood from heart, services the body's cells and then re-enters the heart the mayo clinic noted.

The human respiratory system is a series of organs responsible for taking in oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide. The primary organs of the respiratory system are lungs which carry out this exchange of gases as we breathe.

Parts of respiratory system with their functions and structures :- 

As we breathe, oxygen enters the nose or mouth and passes the sinuses which are hollow spaces in the skull. Sinuses help regulate the temperature and humidity of the air we breathe.
The trachea, also called as wind pipe, filters the air that is inhaled, according to the American Lung Association. It branches into the bronchi which are two tubes that carry air into each lung.
The bronchial tubes lead to the lobes of the lungs. The right lung has three lobes, the left lung has two lobes. Lobes are filled with small sacs called alveoli, and this is where the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide occurs.
The alveolar walls are extremely thin (about 0.2 micrometers). These walls are composed of single layer of tissues called epithelial cells and tiny blood vessels called pulmonary capillaries.
Blood passes through the capillaries. The pulmonary artery carries blood containing carbon dioxide to the air sacs, where the gas moves from the blood to the air , according to the NHLBI. Oxygenated blood goes to the heart through the pulmonary vein and the heart pumps it throughout the body. The diaphragm, a dome shaped muscle at the bottom of the lungs, control breathing and separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity. When a breath is taken, it flattens out and pulls the forward making more space for lungs. During exhalation, the diaphragm expands and forces air out.

Yoga can supplement school and university education. It can prepare the students physically and mentally for the integration of their physical, mental and spiritual faculties so that the students can become  healthier, saner and more integrated member of the society and of the nation.
Yoga education helps in self-discipline and self-control, leading to immense amount of awareness, concentration and higher level of consciousness. Briefly the aims and objectives of yoga education are :

1) To enable the student to have good health.

2) To possess emotional stability.

3) To integrate moral values.

4) To attain higher level of consciousness.

5) To practice mental hygiene.

All these objectives could be dealt with in an integrated manner. 
Yoga education could help to equip oneself with basic knowledge about one's personality, to learn to handle oneself well in all life situation, to learn techniques of gaining good health, to develop a discriminative mind capable of knowing the real form of the unreal and to face the dualities of life with equanimity. 
Yoga practices can be build around concepts like conditioning (propagation), synchronization, concentration, relaxation and self-reliance. 
Yoga improves posture, increases the intake of oxygen and enhances the functioning of all body system like- respiratory, digestive, endocrine reproductive, excretory system etc.

In the current western culture, yoga and exercise are popular ways to stay in shape but the two have a number of differences in regards to the ultimate goal and the specific benefits that they can have on your mind and body. 
The ultimate aim of Hatha yoga is to reach samadhi, a higher state of consciousness. In order to purify the mind it is necessary for the body to undergo a process of absolute purification in order to remove impurities so the udic function and the energy blocks are released. The main objective of Hatha yoga is to create an absolute balance of the interacting activities and processed of the Physical body, mind and energy. When this balance is created, the impulses generated give a call of awakening to the central force (Sushumna nodi) which is responsible for the evolution of human consciousness. If Hatha yoga is not used for the purpose, its true objective is lost.
The ultimate aim of exercise is to improve overall physical fitness level and health by practicing aerobic activity, which elevates the heart beat rate. Exercise can strengthen muscles and the cardiovascular system, improve athletic skills and aid weight loss. Regular exercise can boost the immune system and also improve mental health e.g. prevent depression and promote/ maintain positive self-esteem.
Further more, exercise in the form of different sports can be practiced competitively and the aim is to be the best within the sport, which can be an external driver to the individuals performance. 
The difference between yoga and exercise will depend on the type of  yoga exercise being practiced and it should be noted that certain type of yoga e.g. Ashtanga and more vigorous than other forms and therefore share more similarities with exercise. However, general physical differences are outlined below :

1) Yoga practices slow dynamic movements.

2) Low risk of injuries/exercise has a higher risk of injury.

3) Yoga leads to relatively low caloric consumption/exercise leads to moderate to high caloric consumption.

4) Yoga is non-competitive, process, oriented/exercise is commonly competitive, goal-oriented.

 छात्रों में बढ़ती अनुशासन हीनता 


प्रस्तावना :

'अनुशासन ' शब्द का अर्थ है - 'शासन अर्थात व्यवस्था के अनुसार जीवन - यापन करना। ' यदि कोई व्यवस्था निश्चित है तो उसके अनुसार जीना।  यदि व्यवस्था निश्चित नहीं है तो जीवन में कोई नियम - व्यवस्था या क्रम बनना। अनुशासन जीवन को चुस्त - दुरुस्त बना देता है।  इससे कार्यकुशलता बढ़ती है।  समय का पूरा - पूरा सदुपयोग होता है।  पर क्या आज ऐसा हो रहा हैं ?

अनुशासन की प्रथम पाठशाला परिवार  :

अनुशासन का पाठ पहले - पहल परिवार से सीखा जाता है।  यदि परिवार में सब कार्य व्यवस्था किए जाते है तो बच्चा भी अनुशासन सीख जाता है। इस लिए मनुष्य को सबसे पहले अपना घर अनुशासित करना चाहिए। परन्तु आज घर - घर नहीं रह गए है।  सब जगह एकल परिवार का चलन हो गया है। ऐसे   में माँ - बाप को अपने बच्चो के लिए समय ही नहीं होता है , वो अपने बच्चो के लिए नौकर रखते हैं और भला कोई नौकर बच्चे को अनुशासन सिखा सकता हैं , क्या ? उन्हें तो बच्चे को देखना है , अपनी तन्खा देखनी है और घर जाना है।  ऐसे में बच्चे अनुशासन कहाँ से सीखेंगे। 
 

अनुशासन हीनता का प्रभाव :

छात्र जिन्हे सदेव अनुशासन का पाठ पढ़ाया जाता है , उनकी जिंदगी में अनुशासन के लिए अब जैसे को जगह ही नहीं रह गई हैं। यह युग वैज्ञानिक युग है इसलिए किसी को किसी की चिंता नहीं है सब अपने - अपने में ही व्यस्त रहते है।  कोई जानना तक नहीं चाहता है कि उसके परिवार , विद्यालय , नगर , छेत्र , देश आदि में क्या - क्या घट रहा है। आज बच्चे अपने बड़ो को कोई तवज्जो ही नहीं देते हैं और छात्र अपने शिक्षकों को। 

उपसंहार : 

वास्तव में अनुशासन एक स्वभाव है। एक विद्या है।  अनुशासन का लक्ष्य है - जीवन को समधुर और सुविधापूर्ण बनाना। अनुशासित व्यक्ति को सुशिक्षित और सभ्य कहा जाता है।  वह न केवल स्वच्छता पर ध्यान देता है , बल्कि अपनी बोलचाल और व्यवहार पर भी ध्यान देता है। वह समाज के बीच खलन नहीं डालता , बल्कि व्यवहार की गरिमा बढ़ाता है।  इस प्रकार अनुशासन जीवन - मूल्य है , मनुष्य का आदर्श हैं।  छात्रों के लिए उनकी पहचान हैं।

 आतिशबाजी से आसमान सतरंगी  


कानपुर /4 अक्टूबर / मोहन कुमार ,हरजेन्दर नगर स्थित नरेन्द्रा ग्राउंट में विजय दशमी पर आयोजित मेले व रामलीला स्थल पर रावण वध व पुतला दहन के दौरान खुशियों के धमाकों से आकाश सतरंगी हो गया। कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन क्षेत्रीय विधायक सतीस महाना जी ने दीप प्रज्वलन के माध्यम से किया। 
कार्यक्रम का शुभ - आरम्भ राम और सीता जी की शादी से हुआ , इसने दर्शको का मन मोह लिया। इसके उपरांत रावण वध की लीला का मंचन किया गया। यहाँ पर दो बड़े और बहुत आकर्षक पुतले बनाए गये थे , बड़ा वाला रावण का पुतला था और दूसरा कुम्भकरण का था। ग्राउंड के बाहर तो दोपहर से ही एक बड़ा और अति सुंदर मेला लगा हुआ था। मेले में नन्हे - मुन्हो से लेकर वृद्धो तक के लिए वस्तुए उपलब्ध थी। यहाँ कपड़े , खिलोने , सजावट की वस्तुए , सुन्दर - सुन्दर फूल , आदि सब था।  यहाँ पर खाने - पीने की चीजे भी थी जैसे तरह - तरह कि मिढईया , समोसे , ठंडा बर्फ का गोला , गोलगप्पे , भेलपूरी , चाट , चाउमीन , पोम्फली , पोपोस , आदि का बहुत अच्छा इंतिज़ाम था।  बच्चों के लिए छोटे - छोटे धनुष - बाड , मिट्टी के बने खिलौने और रंगीन चश्मे भी उपलब्ध थे। 
अपने अध्यक्षीय भाषण में मुख्य अतिथि ने सबको अतीत से सबक लेकर एक स्वर्णिम भविष्य का पाठ पढ़ाया उन्होंने बताया कि जीत तो हमेसा सत्य की ही होती है चाहे बुराई कितनी भी ताकतवर क्यों न हो। इस कार्यक्रम का समापन सतीस महाना जी ने रावण पुतला दहन कर किया। और आधे घंटे तक आतिशबाजी हुई।  आतिशबाजी से सतरंगी हुए आकाश को देख ऐसा लग रहा था मानो भगवान राम की इस विजय में उनके स्वागत को तारे टूटकर ज़मीन पर आ रहे हों।

पार्क बर्बाद लैला - मजनू आबाद 


कानपुर /3 अगस्त / अ. ब. स. ,चारो तरफ लहराते कंक्रीट के जंगल , औधोगिक संस्थानों से निकलती हुई दम घोटू हवा एवं गलाकाट प्रतिस्पर्द्धा भरे दौर में पार्क लोगो को एक सुकून प्रदान करते हैं। आज जबकि मकानों का आकार सिमटता जा रहा है और कही - कही तो सूर्यदेव की किरणे ईद के चाँद की तरह मिलती है ऐसी स्थिति में शहरी क्षेत्रो में स्थित पार्क बच्चो ,वृद्ध एवं युवाओं में नव जीवन का संचार करते है। 
पिछले कुछ दिनों से यही पार्क अय्याशी के अड्डे बन चुके है प्रातः काल से लेकर देर रात तक यहॉ पर आधुनिक लैला - मजनू अपनी जमात जमाये रहते है। कभी - कभी तो वे पार्क में व्यायाम करने के लिए आये लोगों को वहाँ से जाने पर मजबूर कर देते है।  ऐसा लगता है कि उनकी आँखों का पानी मर चुका है और वह अपने जीवन का लक्ष्य भूल कर पाश्चात्य संस्कृति और सभ्यता के दलदल में फस चुके है।  हद तो तब हो गई जब एक दिन पार्क में एक प्रेमी युगल (जोड़ा ) ने अपने दादा और दादी को टोकने पर बुरी तरह पीट दिया।  स्थितियाँ बद से बद्द्तर होती जा रही है। 
जिस प्रकार नगर निगम सड़क किनारे के अतिक्रमण को साफ करता है आज पार्को में भी इन कथित लैला मजनूओं के अतिक्रमण को साफ किए जाने की ज़रूरत है।

गणतंत्र दिवस के रंगो से सराबोर वायू विद्यालय 


कानपुर /27 जनवरी / रमन कश्यप ,चकेरी स्थित वायू विद्यालय में गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह बड़ी धूम - धाम के साथ मनाया गया। कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन वायू चेत्र के विधायक रमन श्रीवास्तव जी ने झंडा रोहण के माध्यम से किया।  इससे पूर्व कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि एवं अन्य सम्मानित अतिथि गण का विद्यालय के मुख्य द्वार पर विद्यालय के प्रधानाचार्य श्री राजेस जी एवं स्काउट गाइड एवं एन . सी . सी कैरिटस के द्वारा रसमी तौर से स्वागत हुआ। 
कार्यक्रम का शुभ आरम्भ नन्हे - मुन्हे छात्रों के नृत्य - गीत से हुआ।  इसने दर्सको का मन मोह लिया।  इसके उपरान्त विद्यालय की छात्रा शैल च. ने अपने गद्य पथ में भारत के अतीत के गौरव एवं वर्तमान दुर्दशा पर सभी का ध्यान आक्रसट किया। कक्षा 11 'ब ' की छात्रायों द्वारा प्रस्तुत 'देश मेरा रंगीला ' की रंगीली प्रस्तुति पर मुख्य अतिथि के पाओ भी थिरकने को बाध्य हो गये।  रानी लक्ष्मी बाई की वीरता पर आधारित एकांकि ने स्वत्रन्ता संग्राम के वीरो को एक बानगी प्रस्तुत की।  मंच का संचालन रोज़ी र. एवं आसीस स. ने किया। 

अपने अध्यक्षीय भाषण में मुख्य अतिथि ने छात्र - छात्राओं को अतिथि से सबक लेकर एक स्वर्णिम भविष्य के निर्माण का पाठ पढ़ाया।  इस अवसर पर मुख्य रूप से वरिष्ठ शिक्षा अधिकारी कमान सामील मन. विद्यालय के अधिसासी निर्देसक एस. एम. ननरेस आज उपस्थित रहे।

  परहित सरिस धरम नहिं भाई (परोपकार )  


प्रस्तावना :

'परहित सरिस धरम नहिं भाई। ' अर्थात गोस्वामी तुलसीदास कहना चाह रहे है कि परोपकार सबसे बड़ा धर्म है। परोपकार दो शब्दों के मेल से बना है - पर +उपकार। इसका अर्थ है - दूसरों की भलाई करना। मैथिलीशरण गुप्त जी कहते है -
"मनुष्य है वही कि जो मनुष्य के लिए मरे ,
यह पशु प्रवृत्ति है कि आप आप ही चरे। " 
परोपकार एक सामाजिक भावना है। इसी के सहारे हमारा सामाजिक जीवन सुखी और सुरक्षित रहता है। परोपकार की भावना से ही हम अपने मित्रों , साथियों , परिचितों की निष्काम सहायता करते हैं। 

परोपकार के कुछ उदाहरण :

प्रकृति हमे परोपकार की शिक्षा देती है। सूर्य हमें प्रकाश देता है , चन्द्रमा अपनी चाँदनी छिटकाकर शीतलता प्रदान करता है , वायु निरंतर गति से बहती हमें जीवत देती है तथा वर्षा का जल धरती को हरा - भरा बनाकर हमारी खेती को लहलहा देता है। प्रकृति से परोपकार की शिक्षा ग्रहण कर हमें भी परोपकार की भावना को अपनाना चाहिए। भारत अपनी परोपकारी परंपरा के लिए जगत प्रसिद्ध रहा है। भगवान शंकर ने समुद्र - मंथन में मिले विष का पान करके धरती के कष्ट को स्वयं उठा लिया था। महर्षि दधीचि ने राक्षसों के नाश के लिए अपने शरीर की हड्डियाँ तक दान कर दी थीं। आधुनिक काल में दयानंद , तिलक , गाँधी , सुभाष आदि के उदाहरण हमें लोकहित की प्रेरणा देते हैं। 

परोपकार का सुख :

परोपकार करने से आत्मा को सच्चे आनंद की प्राप्ति होती है। दूसरे का कल्याण करने से परोपकारी की आत्मा विस्तृत हो जाती है। उसे अलौकिक आनंद मिलता है। उसके आनंद की तुलना भौतिक सुखों से नहीं की जा सकती। ईसा मसीह ने एक बार अपने शिष्यों को कहा था - ' स्वार्थी बाहरी रूप से भले ही सुखी दिखाई पड़ता है , परन्तु उसका मन दुखी और चिंतित रहता है। सच्चा आनंद तो परोपकारियों को प्राप्त होता है। '

परोपकार में भेदभाव कैसा :

परोपकार शुद्ध भावना है। इसमें अपने - पराए का भेदभाव नहीं होना चाहिए। जो अपनों को देखकर दया या उपकार करता है , वह शुद्ध मानव नहीं है। वह विभक्त मानव है। वह एक प्रकार का अंधा है जिसके बारे में कहा गया है -
"अंधा बाँटे खेड़ी फिर - फिर अपनों को देय। "
सूरज कभी भेदभाव नहीं करता , चन्द्रमा , नदी , तारे , झरने किसी प्रकार का भेदभाव नहीं करते। परोपकारी मनुष्यों को भी चाहिए कि सबको प्रेम लुटाएँ। 

उपसंहार : 

परोपकार मनुष्य - जीवन को सार्थक बनाता है। आज तक जितने भी मनुष्य महापुरुष कहलाने योग्य हुए हैं ,जिनके चित्र हम अपने घरों पर लगाते हैं , या जिनकी हम पूजा करते हैं ,वे सब परोपकरी थे। उनकी इसी परोपकार भावना ने उन्हें ऊँचा बनाया , महान बनाया।  वास्तव में परोपकार मनुष्यता की पहचान है।

The most common examples of such fault are bone fractures or enlarged lives. In this direction, the first revolutionary technique was that of x-ray. Today techniques are available to get an insight into practically every body organ. These are some of the imaging techniques, which provide a pictorial or graphic representation of the body part suspected to be functioning improperly. The techniques are :
  • Electrocardiography (ECG) is a graphic display of electrical voltages produced by heart muscle during cardiac cycle. The waves (P,Q,R,S & T) which have a fixed normal pattern show deviations in abnormal functioning of heart.
  • Electro encephalography (EEG) involves recording electrically activity of brain. EEG tracings show wave patterns which are different in different mental states (eye open, eye closed, sleep etc.) EEG is used in detecting several brain disorders such as Epilepsy, Brain infections, metabolic & drug effects on the brain, study of sleep and its disorders and in the determination of brain death.
  • Computerized Tomography (CT) uses x-rays. It gives excellent image of internal organs of human body. It is very useful in detecting tumours and other abnormalities. Its repeated exposure is harmful.
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is based on the interaction of molecules, specifically atomic nuclei such as hydrogen with radio frequency field in the presence of an enternal magnetic field. MRI is completely non-invasive, non harmful and no x-rays are used. It gives 2 and 3 dimensional picture of any organ of human body. It is superior to CT and gives good soft tissue contrast. Images of any direction and plane are possible. It is useful for detecting tumours, cancers, infections etc and also used for studying blood flow and in the study of functions of brain, heart etc. Ultrasound imaging makes use of vibrations within 1-15 MHz frequency range. These being inaudible to humans are termed ultrasound. The key material in this technique are certain crystals like lead zirconate. Ultrasound is very useful and is becoming increasingly popular in diagnosing defects in internal organs.

Education today is more for livelihood than for life

 EDUCATION TODAY IS MORE FOR LIVELIHOOD THAN FOR LIFE



 I remember the golden words of Socrates; " Not life but a good life is chiefly valued". And I add to this that it is the education that makes the life good which is worth valuing.

We see that women a child is merely 3 years old, he for the first time enters the threshold of the school and at the age of 21 or 22, he comes out of college with a degree in his hands. And now he is capable of earning his livelihood. But do you think this much of education has made him really an educated man or a versatile character?

I ask those who wish to contradict my views: Is the purpose of the knowledge a man keeps acquiring in every walk of his life, from all around him, from the time he comes to the world till the time he is to leave-just limited to 'livelihood' alone ? It would be our ignorance to consider the term education in terms of 'academics' only. It is basically a systematic way to acquiring knowledge which requires some help form outside too apart from our own efforts. I do agree that the task of earning a livelihood becomes more easy by vocational education but it may not just be sufficient for a successful life! But it is very sad to say that in this materialistic world man is so much concerned with livelihood that he has forgotten the real meaning of life.

" Life" is a comprehensive term that is always related to totality. And to make it perfect in all respects, we need education while we see 'livelihood' as just a part of life. We may be a doctor, an engineer, an, as or whatever but before everything, we are human beings and to have humaneness we need to have education.

To sum up all this, I would just say, " Whether we talk of today, yesterday or the coming future Education is always more for life."

Because there can be life even without livelihood but there can never be livelihood without a life!

 Want to bring vegetables and fruits from market, carry any eatable to office or school, and throw any waste material or to pack anything; the only most convenient answer to all these questions is “ Polythene Bags” Its is easy to handle anything by using polythene bags. But have you ever thought how harmful these polythene bags are to our environment. These polythene bags are made of a polymer compound which is non biodegradable that is not at all acted upon by any living organism. This means that once these enter our environment, remain as such forever.

Polythene is highly toxic in nature and if ingested in even in very minute quantity by human beings can be fatal. Polythene prevents the passage of the light, air and water through it, so it prevents germination of seeds and hence creates threat for the continuity of life.

Grazing animals eat the polythene thrown with the waste vegetables, fruits and other house hold wastes. This polythene deposit in the intestine of these animals and disturb their digestive system. As the amount of polythene increases in the intestine it leads to the death. It has been found every year more than 35 lakh animals die untimely due to ingestion of polythene. In Lucknow about 08 kg. of polythene has been removed from the stomach of a cow in an operation done by doctors.

Polythene is not only dangerous to the life on land it is also hazardous to life under water. Polythene present in water bodies consumes the dissolved oxygen from water, this leads to an anoxic condition on the water body this ultimately lead to the death of aquatic animals.

Polythene bags thrown in the sewage accumulate in the sewer pipe lines and clog them which results in the poor sewage disposal system in municipal drainage system. Polythene reduces the soil fertility by reducing its porosity and water retention capacity; this reduces the crop yield of food grains.

Polythene can be seen at each and every place today, at roads, in parks, in rivers, in lakes, in forests, on railway lines, in field area and even at hills like the Himalayas, it is reducing the aesthetic value on our natural heritage. Polythene has not even left our holy rivers pure. The Gangas, the Yamuna and other rivers are highly polluted due to polythene.

We are blaming the polythene for all these problems, but ion real sense we, the human beings, the inventor, producers and users of polythene bags are the real culprits. It is true that the necessity is the mother of invention and the us of polythene bags for making carry bags was a very good invention for our daily needs. The problem aroused by the extensive, unnecessary use and this gave birth to the problems related to polythene pollution.

Now, as the problem has been created by us and is related to our lives, we have to find out the solution to this problem. It is very difficult to imagine a world without polythene as it has become an essential part of our daily lives.

But we must and we have to learn to use other alternatives of polythene, especially the polythene bags. We can use paper and jute bags in place of polythene to carry goods. We can use glass and steel containers in place of polythene containers. If the use of polythene is unavoidable, in any case then used bag & container should be properly disposed off so that they can be recycled. It is also necessary to recycle the already present polythene pollutants, for this all the scattered polythene bags and containers must be collected and sent for recycling.

Come on, lets join hands to make our environment polythene free and say “No to polythene” is one strong voice to start this revolution at our school level each and every student has to make a promise today that he or she will not bring polythene bags in school. Each one of us will discourage the use of polythene bags and will encourage the use of paper and jute bags because we and only we can make our environment polythene free and I am sure we will definitely be able to do it.
