Section - A
(Short Answer Type Questions)
Note : Answer any six questions in not more than 100 words. Each question carries 3 marks.
1. (A) What is the essence of poetry according to Sri Aurobindo Ghosh ?
   (B) How did the child blackmail the teacher in the story 'Crime and Punishment' ?
   (C) According to Gandhiji, ''The spiritual training of the boys is much more difficult matter than their physical and mental training.'' Elaborate Gandhiji's concept of spiritual training.
   (D) Write a short note on Nehru's tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
   (E) Do you agree with the suggestions of C.Rajagopalachari regarding reforms in the University education system ? Give your own views.
   (F) What are the suggestions of Ambedkar for the upliftment of the untouchables and downtrodden in his work 'Preservation of Social Order' ?
   (G) In the essay ''A Passage from My Reminiscence'', Tagore says 'I know not who paints the pictures on memory's canvas..... .' Who is the painter of memories ? Explain with writer's views on memories.
   (H) Write a short note on Dr. Rajendra Prasad's contribution in the service of nation.

(Long Answer Type Questions)

Note : Attempt any two questions. Each question carries 8 marks.
2. Sri Aurobindo Ghosh is a mystic poet. How does he evaluate poetry ? Give his views on poetry.
3. In 'Homage to Gandhi', Nehru has spoken on the greatness of Gandhi. What, according to Nehru can be proper homage to Gandhi ?
4. Write a notc on relevance of Gandhiji's teachings of morality patriotism and honesty.
5. Critically evaluate R. K. Narain's 'Crime and Punishment' as an essay on child psychology.

(Long Answer Type Questions)
