DIWALI
Diwali is one of the main festivals of Hindus. It is a main festival of lights. In this day people worship Goddess Laxmi and God Ganesh. Children play with crackers. People use to clean their houses, paint their houses beautifully, make rangoli, decorate and lighten their houses. All people wear new cloths. They make sweets in their houses like barfi, rashgulla etc. People lighten their houses with beautiful and attractive lamps, diyas, candles etc. Many days before people start preparing for this festival, they purchased new clothes, shoes, decorating pieces for their house etc. Before two days of Diwali a festival called Dhanteras was celebrated, in which people used to purchase new items like utensils, cloths etc. This festival was celebrated because many years ago Shri Ram, Lakshman and Sita ji had come back to Ayodhaya after 14 years ago so the people of Ayodhaya decorated their houses with lights. Diwali is my favorite festival.
